James Franco might only be the ripe old age of 34, but Comedy Central has decided that he’s a prime contender for celebrity roastee.
Yes, the Oscar nominee/soap opera star/PhD candidate/conceptual artist (shall we go on?) will be the next star to get roasted on national television.
The “Spring Breakers” actor announced the news via an Instagram video on Monday evening.
“Hey, yo. What’s up? I’m gonna get roasted on Comedy Central. Be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that. All right. Ha ha ha…,” he revealed, channeling his typical Franco “enthusiasm.”
Sure, Franco doesn’t have quite the comedy career of legendary roastees of the past like Roseanne Barr and Denis Leary, but we’re sure the roasters (fingers crossed for Seth Rogen and Danny McBride) will think of a few things to bust his chops about.
His epic co-hosting miss at the 83rd Academy Awards? That’s a good start. His stint as “Franco,” the experimental artist/serial killer, on General Hospital? (We actually kind of applaud that performance). THIS, MAYBE?
We kid. We kid. The man deserves props for Freaks and Geeks alone.
Prepare to see James get roasted this coming Labor Day!
