Grammy Awards 2013: The 10 Best-Dressed Stars

22 Apr

The Grammy Awards are known for their outrageous fashion, but that may all change after this year’s red carpet parade.

Maybe it was the new dress code; maybe it’s the evolution of some of music’s biggest stars (think: Rihanna and Katy Perry‘s new elegant red carpet style). But unlike years past, for the 2013 Grammy Awards, we didn’t have to struggle to devise our best-dressed list.

From Rihanna in red and Beyonce in black and white to Adele‘s floral frock, the stars really stepped up their red carpet style for music’s biggest night.

Check out all the night’s best-dressed stars.

Celebrity Fashion: TAYLOR SWIFT Is A Greek Goddess At The 2013 Grammy Awards

5 Apr

TAYLOR SWIFT was a gorgeous Greek goddess at the 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday in a stunning gown by designer J. Mendel.

Taylor has been wearing a lot of daring, plunging dresses lately, and it was the same for the Grammy Awards, at which she was not only a multiple nominee, but also the opening act.

The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer walked the red carpet in a Greek goddess-inspired gown from the J. Mendel Spring 2013 collection, which featured a plunging neckline with glittery silver straps connected to a sexy open back.

She paired the dress with metallic Jimmy Choo sandals and Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

A cute braided updo, pink lips, and smokey eyes provided the finishing touches.

Katy Perry Gets Around The Grammy Dress Code In A Skin-Tight, Cleavage-Baring Green Gown

1 Apr

Katy Perry

Katy Perry dropped some serious cleavage in a mint green gown at last night’s 55th Annual Grammy Awards.

The singer appeared to have found a (ahem) loophole around this year’s Grammy dress code, which CBS sent out a memo about on Wednesday. The request asked artists to forget about wearing any outfits that show too much skin.

The front of the “Firework” singer’s dress caught lots of attention though, even from comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, who was photographed with partner Portia De Rossi staring right at Katy’s chest (see the photo at E! Online).

Katy showed up on the red carpet with BFF Allison Williams, star of HBO’s Girls. Boyfriend John Mayer didn’t appear with Katy on the red carpet, but he was spotted next to her inside the Staples Center, where this year’s ceremony was held.

Katy Perry and Allison Williams

Katy presented this year’s Best New Artist Award, giving off the ‘but look at me now’ vibe when she said she wasn’t nominated for the award when she was an up-and-coming star.

“I was not even nominated in this category and I have my own eyelash line,” she said. “Take that, Bon Iver!”

This year’s award went to fun..

Interestingly, fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff is dating Girls creator Lena Dunham. Think whoever matches up the presenters to the awards knew something ahead of time?

Celebrity Fashion: RIHANNA Looks Ravishing In Red At 2013 Grammy Awards

28 Mar

RIHANNA looked absolutely ravishing in a red gown at the 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday.

See for yourself:

AES 089692

Surprisingly, the singer did not wear a super sexy plunging gown to the Grammys, as she did last year. Instead, she brought her A-game to the red carpet in a stunning, custom Azzedine Alaia gown, which featured a sheer halter neckline and a sheer panel on the torso, as well as an open back and a gauzy skirt with a long, dramatic train.

Manolo Blahnik heels and a Neil Lane jewels (an assortment of rings, a silver bracelet, and diamond drop earrings) accessorize her look.

Beauty-wise, Rihanna went with cascading curls and a sexy red lip.

Definitely one of the night’s best dressed, wouldn’t you say?

Celebrity Fashion: CARLY RAE JEPSEN Rocks A Sparkly Black Gown At 2013 Grammy Awards

26 Mar

CARLY RAE JEPSEN rocked a sparkly black gown at the 2013 Grammy Awards in California on Sunday.

Check her out:

AES 089575

Like Carrie Underwood, Carly Rae Jepsen chose to walk the 2013 Grammy Awards red carpet in an edgy black strapless gown with a mermaid skirt by Roberto Cavalli, which effectively made her appear less like her usual younger-looking self and more like the 26-year-old pop singer-songwriter that she is.

Although her dress had enough sparkle, she accessorized with a gold Cuyana bracelet and an H. Stern ring.

AES 089578

To balance her look, she kept her signature “bed hair” with blunt bangs, smoky eyes with frosty highlights and pinkish-nude matte lips.

Celebrity Fashion: ALICIA KEYS Looks Sexy In A Midriff-Baring Gown At 2013 Grammy Awards

26 Mar

ALICIA KEYS looked very sexy in a midriff-baring black gown at last Sunday’s 2013 Grammy Awards.

See for yourself:

When it came to attending this year’s Grammys, Alicia Keys picked out another stunning piece from her favorite designer, Azzedine Alaia.

Her gown was one of a kind (and definitely did not conform to the night’s dress code), with its crocodile texture crisscross bodice that showed off her midriff and cleavage, plus an interesting fishtail silhouette.

Matching snake dangling earrings and cocktail ring accessorized her look, but perhaps her best accessory was her husband and baby daddy, Swizz Beats.

She finished her look with matching snake dangling earrings and cocktail ring, a sleek updo and red lips.
