Jennifer Lawrence Says She’s ‘Kind of Going Through a Meltdown’ Over Being Famous

8 Aug

Jennifer Lawrence graces the coveted September cover of Vogue, and the accompanying interview is typically Jennifer Lawrence. It’s filled with run-offs and asides and more quirks than Silver Linings Playbook, for which she won an Oscar in February.

But midway through the article, the interview takes a bit of a serious, somewhat surprising, turn as the 23-year-old explains how she’s struggling with her new-found level of fame.

“I teeter on seeming ungrateful when I talk about this,” she says after a restaurant patron blatantly takes a photo of her, “but I’m kind of going through a meltdown about it lately. All of a sudden the entire world feels entitled to know everything about me, including what I’m doing on my weekends when I’m spending time with my nephew. And I don’t have the right to say, ‘I’m with my family.'”

She continues:

If I were just your average 23-year-old girl, and I called the police to say that there were strange men sleeping on my lawn and following me to Starbucks, they would leap into action. But because I am a famous person, well, sorry, ma’am, there’s nothing we can do. It makes no sense … I am just not OK with it. It’s as simple as that. I am just a normal girl and a human being, and I haven’t been in this long enough to feel like this is my new normal. I’m not going to find peace with it.

For a brief moment, you get that panicky feeling inside of you, like, “Oh God, Katniss is totally six months away from throwing bongs out of her apartment window.”

But by page six, the article – and Lawrence – return to its roots.

Suddenly, her assistant and best friend of four years, Justine, walks in. She’s just come back from having lunch with an ex-boyfriend, and they parse the meaning of every exchange. Then Lawrence gives her friend the once-over and says, “P.S. Perfect outfit. And your butt looks great in that skirt.”

26 Jul

Vanessa Hudgens is taking girl talk to a whole other level.

The actress will star in a new E! special with former High School Musical co-star – and lifelong BFF – Ashley Tisdale, where their one-on-one conversations are broadcast for all to see.

In a preview for the show, Tisdale quizzes Hudgens about her on-screen lip lock (which is a more polite term for threesome if you’ve seen Spring Breakers) with James Franco.

“I’d rather kiss a girl than a guy,” she responds bluntly.

The sneak peek clip also shows the girls sipping on wine and practicing their twerking skills – so there’s also that to look forward to if you can’t find a rerun of Sex and the City.

Kelly Osbourne Opens Up About Troubled Past: I Wanted The Drugs ‘All To Myself’

23 Jul

Kelly Osbourne is all about speaking her mind and her latest interview with Cosmopolitan U.K. is no exception.

Gracing the publication’s September 2013 issue, the Fashion Police host opens up about her past drug addiction and how her mother, Sharon Osbourne, even had her placed in a padded room in order to help her kick the habit.

“I’ve been to rehab seven times and to two mental institutions. My mum even had me put in a padded cell once to scare me, but like a brat I just sat it out until she said, ‘Well, that’s not going to work’,” the 28-year-old tells the magazine. “But what I’ve learnt is that no amount of therapy or medication is going to work unless you want it to. Until you want to be a good person, you will never be one.”

She explains, “I was never one of those people who was like, ‘Let’s party; let’s go and do loads of coke.’ In fact, I would never even tell anyone I had drugs because I wanted them all to myself. I was quite selfish.”

Speaking candidly about the moments that made her want to turn her life around, Kelly says that she realized she needed to change after taking care of her sick her parents.

“When I was 18, I was set to play Lindsay Lohan‘s best friend in Freaky Friday. Then my mum got diagnosed with cancer. I was faced with the choice of a career or spending what could have been the last days of my mother’s life with her,” she says. “I said, ‘F**k you, career, hello, Mother’. I became my mum’s nurse 24/7. I thought I was going to lose her – it was awful.”

And after her dad, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, had an accident on his all-terrain vehicle in 2003, Osbourne remembers how she care fro him: “He couldn’t move from the neck down and was basically a paraplegic, so I slept on the floor by the side of his bed for four months. I brushed his teeth and washed his clothes, and every day we’d put on our swimsuits and I’d shower him.”

“Not many people can say they’ve wiped their mother and father’s arses more than they’ve wiped their own,” she adds.

‘Stand Your Ground’ Florida Boycott List Naming Rihanna, Kanye West, Jay Z Refuted

28 Jun

Stevie Wonder might be the only man who’s still boycotting Florida after all.

As Celebuzz previously reported, American Urban Radio Network White House correspondent April Ryan leaked a list of A-list musicians – including Rihanna, Kanye West and Madonna – allegedly boycotting the sunshine State in protest of its “Stand Your Ground” law in the wake of George Zimmerman‘s acquittal for the 2012 killing of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin.

On Tuesday, Ryan updated her original story saying “several representatives of the artists named who say, on behalf of their clients, they are uncomfortable being identified on that list,” refuting the claims that the named celebrities are stopping their performances in Florida.

“The list including her name was surprising,” a source close to Alicia Keys, whose name was also on the roster, told us. “We are not aware of any boycott.”

In similar fashion, listed artists Jay Z and Timberlake are still slated to perform at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium on August 13.

Celebuzz has reached out to all the named musicians for comments and is currently awaiting for replies.

Kate Upton Says She Felt ‘Terrible’ After Her First Sports Illustrated Cover Because Guys Kind of Suck

13 Jun

In the September issue of Elle, supermodel Kate Upton claims that posing for the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue didn’t exactly do wonders for her self image. In fact, she says the whole thing made her feel like crap.

“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month,” the 21-year-old said in the issue out Aug. 20. “Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something.”

“I’m not a toy, I’m a human,” she continued. “I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s-t out.”

Hey, if millions of fat guys were looking at me the way they flipped through that issue, I would feel kinda shitty, too.

Vanessa Hudgens: ‘The Best Part’ Of Playing A Stripper Was Getting To Go To Strip Clubs

12 Jun

If you thought Vanessa Hudgens‘ role in Spring Breakers was raunchy, wait until you take a look at her upcoming flick, The Frozen Ground.

Playing a 17-year-old exotic dancer, the actress says “the best part” was going to all the strip clubs to do research for her psychologically – and definitely physically – challenging role.

“I went to a bunch of strips clubs and got to talk to the strippers,” she tells pal Ashley Tisdale in a preview clip of her E! special, Vanessa & Ashley: Inner Circle.

“I have mad respect for the amazing pole dancers because it takes a lot of work and … they’re like athletes, honestly. What they do is crazy.”

Given that fellow former Disney starlet Miley Cyrus also likes sticking dollar bills in G-strings, maybe the girls can get together for a little reunion.
