Jennifer Lopez On Her Iconic Versace Dress: What’s The Big Deal?

23 Apr

Jennifer Lopez‘s Versace moment at the 2000 Grammys has turned into a Versace decade and three years!

Yes, 13 years later and we’re STILL talking about that dress!

During her interview with W magazine, the August cover girl once again took a walk down that very sheer and revealing memory lane. Not that it was hard for her to do — the dress is at her house!

In her latest tale, Jenny from the Block told the mag how the dress got on her body:

“We had looked at a few dresses, and nothing was right. My stylist said, there’s this one dress, but other people have worn it. I tried on the Versace and decided to wear it anyway. But I was still surprised by the reaction: When I came onstage with David Duchovny, who was the biggest star in the world then, he said to the audience, ‘Nobody is looking at me’. This loud sound started from the back of the room — it was kind of like a roar, over me in the dress. When I went to my seat, I said, ‘What’s the big deal?!’ Puffy and Benny were waiting, and they said, ‘You have to take pictures in that dress.'”

Pictures that will now live on infamy!

We’re still waiting for the day that J.Lo will bring dust off the piece of fabric and wear it again, which she totes would. But until then, check out pics of her and Puff (below)!

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Plans To Thwart Vanity Fair Article Falls Flat! Magazine Still Publishing Exposé!

26 Nov

We have a feeling Gwyneth Paltrow is about to be VERY angry!!

A little while back, the Goop master threw a hissy fit about an unflattering article Vanity Fair was planning to run on her.

In fact, she so upset with the mag that she emailed all her friends ordering them not to talk to VF‘s team.

Unfortunately for Gwynnie her plans have backfired, because rather than discouraging Editor-in-Chief Graydon Carter from publishing the story, he now feels obligated to move forward with it!

Carter recently opened up to The Times Of London about the dramz, saying:

“We started a story on her. We have a very good writer and it’ll run… she sort of forced my hand.”

Even worse for Gwyneth? Vanity Fair won’t let her or her people have final approval of the article before it goes to print!

Everyone already knows that Miz Paltrow isn’t exactly a joy to work with, so we can only imagine the tantrum she’ll throw when the article finally surfaces.

Graydon Carter better have a safe place to hide!

But then again, if the article contains the kind of juicy dirt we keep hearing about, maybe SHE’s the one in need of a hideout. LOLz!

Diane Von Furstenberg’s Wrap Dress Unwrapped!

It was the dress that made her famous, after all!

Diane von Furstenberg shot to fame in 1974 when she divorced Prince von Furstenberg, and consequently designed the wrap dress!

The independent lady said she wanted a dress that stood for femininity, individuality and inner strength. DVF opened up about the story after a story claimed she was a kept woman.

She revealed:

“As awful as that story was, it made me realize that I did not want to be a socialite. That was so far from the woman I wanted to be. I wanted to be independent. [Business] exploded. Usually the fairy tale ends with the girl marrying the prince But mine started as soon as the marriage was over.”

DVF also said that the decade had something to do with it, since the 1970s were about independence, adding:

“I loved the Seventies. It was between the pill and AIDS, and everyone enjoyed an amazing amount of freedom and exploration in so many ways – artistically, emotionally.”

When she made her comeback from tongue cancer in 1994, the wrap dress helped her skyrocket again! She explained:

“The first time I did it to be independent. The second time around was to show myself and the world that my success hadn’t been an accident. Now I am in the third phase, which is ‘I Mean Business’. This is a new starting line for me.”

We love her drive and passion for fashion! Even at 65 years old, she’s still on top of the fashion world!
