It’s no secret that President Barack Obama has a lot of friends in Hollywood.
Leading up to the big election last November, dozens of famous faces took part in campaign rallies, concerts and fundraisers (all hail Beyonce and Jay Z) to support the president’s bid for a second term.
On Sunday, Obama turns 52 years young, and in honor of his birthday, Celebuzz is taking a look at some of the stars the P.O.T.U.S. has rubbed shoulders with.
According to The Associated Press, the commander in chief will be spending part of his birthday at Camp David in Maryland before returning to the White House in the afternoon.
Obama will travel to the west coast this week to visit troops at Camp Pendleton, discuss plans to help homeowners and drop by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for an appearance on Aug. 6.

We all know and love Katy Perry as an outlandish fashion icon and pop sensation, but where did she get her start?
Known for her candy-themed stage shows and catchy songs, Katy has become a pop institution – but who knew that Katy’s real name is actually Katy Hudson and that her first single wasn’t “I Kissed a Girl,” but the similar sounding “Ur So Gay“? And that even though some of her songs like to push boundaries, she grew up in an ultra conservative household with both of her parents being pastors who refused to let her listen to any rock or popular music?
Sit back and join Celebuzz’s Taryn Brooks and enjoy Katy’s journey from one-time gospel singer to pop icon.
At the iTunes Festival in London, Katy Perry decided to treat her fans to another new song off the upcoming Prism. This one’s called “By the Grace of God” and, oh boy, it’s a doozy.
The ballad describes Perry’s emotional devastation following her divorce from Russell Brand, fighting off suicidal thoughts. In Perry’s Billboard cover story, she talked about the song, saying: “That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?’ All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs.”
If it seems like Perry’s already given us a listen to every song off her album, don’t worry there are plenty more. Perry just released the track listing for Prism:
- Legendary Lovers
- Walking on Air
- Dark Horse
- This is How We Do
- International Smile
- Love Me
- This Moment
- Double Rainbow
- By the Grace of God
- It Takes Two
- Choose Your Battles
Prism is out Oct. 22.

In a recent interview with celebrity news, KATY PERRY talked about her unearthed-and evidently “wasted”-karaoke video with ROBERT PATTINSON from 5 years ago, which went viral earlier this week.
Katy Perry has been having quite a hard time proving to the masses that she and Robert Pattinson are really just friends, even after she denied the rumors herself to her good friend (and Pattinson‘s famous lady love), Kristen Stewart.
To make things worse, an old video of the unlikely pair singing karaoke at a party back in 2008 has gone viral, as it featured a drunk Pattinson and Katy sitting on his lap while covering Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You.”
She said on “The Kyle and Jackie O Show” about the video:
“Well, there’s the media for you, nothing is sacred, not even karaoke.”
Perry notes that the video was from 2008 and that they “got wasted and did karaoke like people do” and then “it f*cking finally showed up on the Internet.”
She then insisted that it shows “that we’re like actually just friends.”
“We’re like true friends.”
Okay, okay, Katy. We believe you!

Katy Perry just released the third teaser for her upcoming single, “Roar,” and this one is absolutely purr-fect. (Sorry.)
She’s already burned her blue “California Gurls” wig and laid her old persona to rest, but now Katy’s taking it to the next level proving she’s no longer a fluffy little kitten, she’s a fierce animal who’s ready to roar! (And we ain’t lion. We’re not finished with with the cat puns over here, by the way.)
The clip stars an adorable little white feline who proceeds to gobble up his toy, glare at the camera, and let out a very ferocious roar.
Katy tweeted,”This one’s for the kittens. It’s time to make those meows #ROAR” with a link to the new video.
The pop star doesn’t make an appearance in this latest teaser, but a sample of “Roar” does. Yup – you can hear about four seconds of the track at the end.
“Roar” will be released on August 12th. We’re paws-itively thrilled. (OK. done now.)
So, what do you think, Katycats? Are you a fan of teaser #3?
