Kate Upton Says She Felt ‘Terrible’ After Her First Sports Illustrated Cover Because Guys Kind of Suck

In the September issue of Elle, supermodel Kate Upton claims that posing for the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue didn’t exactly do wonders for her self image. In fact, she says the whole thing made her feel like crap.

“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month,” the 21-year-old said in the issue out Aug. 20. “Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something.”

“I’m not a toy, I’m a human,” she continued. “I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s-t out.”

Hey, if millions of fat guys were looking at me the way they flipped through that issue, I would feel kinda shitty, too.

Upton and Chmerkovskiy were spotted by the New York Post source Monday night holding hands at Catch in New York City’s Meatpacking District, which is not a joke about Maksim trying to fit his pecs into a t-shirt. According to the witness, “they seemed pretty open about their relationship.” The two have been rumored to be a couple for some time now, though Maksim denied those rumors recently, telling Extra, “we go way back.” Which, Kate Upton is a 21-year-old model raised in Melbourne, Florida and Maksim Chmerkovskiy is a 33-year-old dancer from Ukraine, how far back can they really go?

Chmerkovskiy was previously engaged to DWTS co-star Karina Smirnoff, but the two broke up in 2009. The two are currently co-starring in Forever Tango on Broadway. Upton, for her part, has been single for most of the time she’s been in the public eye, despite scores of enthusiastic fans.

If it’s true, good for you Maksim. You’re probably the most envied male dancer since Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman got married.

The Sports Illustrated model, who has been clad in mostly bikinis (if anything) for her features, finally covered herself in more layers of stunning clothing while also flaunting her curves and putting her boobs in display in other fetish-inspired ensembles.
