Casey Kasem’s Wife Fires Back At Conservatorship Filing By Stepkids

The wife of legendary radio deejay Casey Kasem has challenged a conservatorship filing from his three children by filing papers of her own in court on Tuesday.

Casey’s kids took legal action last week after their stepmother, actress Jean Kasem, cut them off from visiting their father, who is suffering from advanced Parkinson’s disease.

Kerri, Julie and Mike Kasem filed for legal control of their father’s affairs after being refused visits and phone calls for over three months, but now their stepmother has fired back.

Jean claims that she’s been caring for her husband, who is also suffering from early onset dementia, and says that the conservatorship should be given to her.

According to TMZ.com, Kasem’s kids claim that they have power of attorney for their father, stemming from a 2007 court ruling; however, Jean claims that it was nullified in 2011 and she has control.

The former “Cheers” actress also says that her stepchildren sponged off of her and her husband for years and still haven’t repayed loans in the six figure ranges.

Paul McCartney Defends Miley Cyrus Over Racy Performances

Former Beatle Paul McCartney has come to the defense of Miley Cyrus over her recent performances, saying that we’ve all “seen worse than that.”

McCartney told Britain’s Sky News that he saw Miley’s MTV Video Music Awards performance and thought it was only “mildly shocking”.

“You know what, I don’t think it was explicit at all,” he says. “You couldn’t see anything! I watched it just as an experiment, to check. But obviously you look at it and you go, ‘What’s everyone shouting about?’.

“Someone said to me that the world that a lot of those people like Miley live in is all noise, and they’ve got to get above the noise. So they have to do something,” McCartney added.

“I think it was only mildly shocking. She’s dancing with Robin Thicke, so what? Come on, we’ve seen worse than that!” he said.

McCartney has been making the rounds promoting his 16th solo album, appropriately titled “New”.

Actress Leah Remini, who recently split from the Church of Scientology, reportedly filed a missing persons report for the wife of church leader David Miscavige. Shelly Miscavige hasn’t been seen in public since 2006, prompting questions about her whereabouts and speculation over whether or not she’s being punished or held somewhere by the church against her will. Police confirmed an investigation last night but wouldn’t say whether or not Remini had anything to do with it. Mrs. Miscavige was later found by police, who closed the case and called the report “unfounded” according to TMZ. The church subsequently blasted Remini, calling the report “an inexcusable distraction for the LAPD.” (story)

Actress Karen Black, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 70s film “Five Easy Pieces”, died on Thursday at the age of 74. Black had been battling ampullary cancer, which affects the bile duct, since 2010 and succumbed in a nursing home in Los Angeles. Her husband broke the news on Facebook, thanking fans for support and prayers. Earlier this year the couple raised money via Kickstarter.com to pay for an experimental treatment in Europe, but she never made it there because her failing health prevented her from traveling. Leah Remini Files Missing Persons Report For Scientology Leader David Miscavige’s Wife

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Thursday that an investigation regarding the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige has been ongoing after reports that actress Leah Remini, who recently broke from the church, filed a missing persons report over the whereabouts of Mrs. Miscavige.

Police wouldn’t say whether or not the actress had anything to do with the filing; however, sources told TMZ.com that Remini personally filed the report after leaving the church after over 30 years last month.

Shelly Miscavige has not been see in public since 2006, and church officials insist that she has simply been working hard for the church, but some people aren’t buying that story.

According to ex-scientologist Tony Ortega, Mrs. Miscavige was transferred to a secret compound around the time of the wedding and is cut off from the outside world.

Remini reportedly left the church over issues with its leadership, when she began questioning Miscavige’s running of the church and started to lose faith following the wedding of high-profile scientologist Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. When Remini allegedly questioned why Miscavige’s wife wasn’t with him at the wedding, in which he served as Cruise’s best man, the church reportedly punished her and began to treat her differently.

Last year Mrs. Miscavige’s attorneys issued a statement saying any claims that she had gone missing “are false.”

The church fired back at TMZ over the story on Thursday, calling it “a ludicrous claim” and a “publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet.”

Last week Remini told Us Weekly.com that she’s planning a memoir, which “will include my [Scientology] experiences, everything that’s taboo to talk about.”

TMZ.com reports that the LAPD has closed the missing persons case involving Miscavige, calling the situation “unfounded” because they were able to meet with her in person.

The church has blasted Remini for opening the case, saying in a statement to TMZ, “Sadly, rather than move on with her life and career, Ms. Remini has aligned herself with a handful of untrustworthy, lunatic tabloid sources who obsessively harass the Church to advance their selfish agendas.”

First Look: 2014 ‘RoboCop’ Reboot Has Its First Trailer

The first trailer for 2014’s reboot of Robocop has arrived, and the new film promises a similar premise as director Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi classic, but with lots of changes.

The year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is the leader in robot technology, having had their drones successfully used by the military in overseas operations for years — and now they want to start using this technology on the domestically (sound familiar?)

When police officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman in the reboot, Peter Weller in the original) is injured critically while in the line of duty, the corporation seizes the opportunity to creat a half-man/half-machine police officer.

Of course, what the company doesn’t know is that they’re not totally in control of Murphy.

Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Ehle, Michael K. Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jay Baruchel and, of course, Samuel L. Jackson also star.

Miley Cyrus Can’t Stop: Poses For Risque New Magazine Shoot & ‘Bangerz’ Promos

Miley Cyrus still can’t stop. Following her controversial performance at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, the singer has now gone on to promote her upcoming album, “Bangerz”, with some racy new photos, along with a risque new shoot for Notion magazine.

To help promote her fourth album, out October 8, Miley squats on a chair in a pair of black and white checked leather pants while grabbing her crotch, ears a daring see through top and stands looking over her shoulder while wearing no pants in three of the images released by RCA to promote the new disc.

Miley’s Notion shoot features the singer in a very risky pvc cutout dress leaving little to the imagination, and, of course, bending forward to show off her behind.

Following her much-criticized performance Sunday night, her father, Billy Ray gave her some words of encouragement. She tweeted what he said…

“Mile, if twerkin woulda been invented…. And I had a foam finger…. I woulda done the same thang you did. – DAD,” she posted on her twitter page Thursday.

Kim Kardashian Talks About ‘Having It All’ In The New Cosmo

It seems that you can’t pass a newstand these days without seeing Kim Kardashian plastered on the cover of one of the magazines. The reality star, who is several months pregnant with her first child, graces the cover of the April issue of Cosmopolitan. Photos from the shoot were taken just days before her boyfriend Kanye West announced their big news to the world back during a concert in December.

Kim, who is still married to NBA star Kris Humphries, explains why she was so judgemental of her sister Kourtney when she got pregnant out of wedlock in 2008. “I was like, ‘You’re not married! How could you do this?’ I was really firm and strict. But she was like, ‘Marriage isn’t what I want.’ And later, I realized she had a better family life than I did,” Kim said pointedly.

Kim has two failed marriages behind her. She wed music producer Damon Thomas in 2000 and got divorced four years later. She and Humphries’ divorce battle is set to go to trial on May 6. Hopefully, the marriage will officially be over when she gives birth sometime in July. The couple split up after just 72 days as husband and wife.

Despite her relationship drama, Kim has always dreamed of having a family. She told Cosmo: “I’ve always said that I wanted kids, but I don’t think I ever would have been ready until now.”

So is tying the knot to Kanye in her future? She explained, “Sometimes you’re just not ready. A person could have it all, and you’re not ready for it all. But this is where I probably always should have been…[marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency about it. I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me.”

She added, “I used to think, ‘Well, can you really have it all?’ The truth, the excitement, and the passion? Now I know you can.”

The April Cosmopolitan hits newsstands Tuesday, March 5.

Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camila looked stunning in a black pantsuit with a plunging neckline. Camila gave birth in December and looked fab just two months after giving birth.

We spotted Katherine Webb, Miss Alabama USA 2012, flaunting her fabulous figure in a bright pink cut-out swimsuit while filming the upcoming celebrity diving series “Splash.”

Ten celebrities will train and compete in diving in front of a weekly poolside audience. Contestants include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Louie Anderson, Drake Bell, Chuy Bravo, Rory Bushfield, Nicole Eggert, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Ndamukong Suh, and Kendra Wilkinson.

Webb, 23, was just featured in the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue alongside faces (and bodies) such as Kate Upton, Nina Agdal and Hannah Davis.

Kate Beckinsale strutted her gorgeous figure at London Fashion Week today. The actress, along with several other celebrities, attended the the Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter Womenswear show at Kensington Gardens.

Beckinsale, who turns 40 (!) this summer, looked stunning in a white shirt dress with a beige belt and black pumps. She appeared in the 2012 films “Underworld: Awakening” and “Contraband” and stars in the upcoming “The Trials of Cate McCall” about a recovering addict/lawyer who works to get reinstated at the bar and recover custody of her daughter.

Freida Pinto joined Beckinsale at the fashion event, sporting a bright blue corset-like peplum blouse and green pants. Model/actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was red hot in a crimson pantsuit.
